Chris Tapsell a Timber Technologist, and Furniture maker, was born and raised in Tasmania. He comes from generations of craftmans & stone masons who were very much apart of the development and architecture we see standing in Tasmania today. Chris has been involved in the timber industry for 20 years managing large companies and running timber processing operations.
These days Chris is taking a simpler aproach, following his passion building high quality staircases and designing beautiful furniture. Chris Came to this idea when he saw beautiful timber wasted by large logging companies who had no use for short down grade logs. And wanted to create something good from this.
Self taught, mainly from books and observation, along with his natural artistic flair he has created exceptional pieces. He is also proud to have his pieces incorporated in the now globally renowned BARNBOUGLE Links Golf Course, and the head Office of Austrade in Nagoya Japan.
